Mojave on unsupported Mac

Updated 2019-05-11 !

My old Mac Book Air, mid 2011, didn't support the latest MacOS, Mojave. So after some checking I found this brilliant fix which did the job.

This guy have really done a fantastic job with great instructions and even a Youtube video.

Before You start I really recommend to check the website, to see if Your Mac is upgradable, read the information carefully and also watch the video.

My Mac, 128 Gb SSD disk and just 4 Gb of ram, works very well after the upgrade and are as fast as it was with High Sierra. It should be noted that it is just used as a "Home" Mac browsing the WEB and document handling, no heavy video work.

The only drawback I have found so far is that in "Light Mode" it is a little hard to read the menus. Check the picture. But switch to "Dark mode" and it will be as the first picture.

It is said in the video, but if You get stuck with the picture to the right
  • Turn of the Mac
  • Push the "Option Key", hold it down
  • Turn on the Mac on again
and it will boot.

I did a clean install, erased the SSD, used APFS and are now running MacOs 10.14.1.

2019-02-19 Updated from MacOs 10.14.1 to MacOs 10.14.3, System Preferences => Software Update,  without any problem
2019-05-11 Tried to updated from MacOS 10.14.3 but got problem creating new USB installer. Starting new from High Sierra 10.13.6 was OK updating to MacOS 10.14.4
