Teltonika RUT 240 as source for Mesh Network or router

I have used the TP-link Deco M9 for quite a while and it have worked very well.

Since almost 2 years I have used mobile broadband as a source for the Mesh network, at home, via a Nokia Fastmile(NF) with no direct flaws.

Getting a very nice offer, half the monthly cost, for mobile Internet from our mobile phone operator it was time to test something new.

Since I probably will have to return the Nokia receiver quitting the old supplier I had to test the new provider with some other equipment. Running the Teltonika RUT 240(TR) in our yacht, in the summertime, it was available for testing.

Intro
To source the mesh network, or a router, with internet connection you have to use bridge or passthrough mode. Choosing this mode will inhibit functions in the TR.

The setup is referring to firmware >= "RUT2_R_00.07.xx.xx" and that an active SIM card is installed.

The setup is simple but i took some time to Google since the most information is referring to the legacy firmware.

Setup
Start with a factory reset.

The initial setup is described in this post, but after the logon, admin/admin01, to the TR skip the wizard.

In the menu
    "Network => WAN”
    Edit ”mob1s1a1” set ”Mode => Bridge”

RT will restart and the setup is ready. Then connect the TR to the mesh network, or router, and test.

Remark
IP and DHCP
Please note that the RT will by default, after the reset, use IP adress 192.168.1.1. Maybe it's more suitable to change the default one to one within, not in the DHCP range, the same IP range, subnet, your client is using.

In the menu
    "Network => LAN”
    Edit ”lan” set ”IPv4address" and "Enable DHCPv4 => off"

Minimize load
Turn off services, for example WiFi, on the TR which you don't need.

My setup
In the picture below the "Nokia 4G Receiver" is replaced by the TR
