Razberry backup and restore

There are two ways to take a backup of Your Raspberry Pi:s, (RPi) Razberry(RZ) configuration;
  • Clone the Raspberry boot disk
  • Backup just the Razberry configuration
The first way is a described in this post and here we will use the built in function in the Razberry GUI

This method will just save the configuration for Razberry, which makes it very suitable when You want to migrate to a newer RPi or start fresh with a new SD card.

You will find a link to the the RZ documentation on the bottom of this page where the backup is described.

Open up the standard GUI and click on the "Configuration" icon up to the right.
Then choose "Settings => Backup  & Restore"

Click on the "Download backup to Your computer" and a
 file with the suffix ".zab" will be downloaded/created, something like

z-way-backup-2019-10-22-15-01.zab

(Please note that You also can set up a cloud backup.)

Do a new installation of the RZ software, logon and do a restore using the ".zab" file.

Go to "Backup  & Restore" mentioned above. Below the "Restore" heading mark box "Are you sure you want........" and then click on "Choose File" and select the file You created when You took a backup. Proceed with the restore and You now should have a fresh copy of the former setup.
